My Favorite Sites
Personal
- Woot - Woot.com is an online store and community that focuses on selling cool stuff cheap. There is only one item offered each day at rock-bottom pricing. If you want the deal get in early! It started as an employee-store slash market-testing type of place for an electronics distributor, but it's taken on a life of its own. We anticipate profitability by 2043 – by then we should be retired; someone smarter might take over and jack up the prices. Until then, we're still the lovable scamps we've always been.

- Power Reporting - A great jumping off site maintained by Bill Dedham and the folks at CJR.

Writing
- Agent Query - Agent Query offers the largest, most current searchable database of literary agents on the web—a treasure trove of reputable, established literary agents seeking writers just like you. And it's free (not because there's a catch, but simply because not enough things in this world are free).
- The Prose Nest, LLC A School for Writers - Starting in September 2007, we will be offering a selection of writing classes in Kenosha's historic Kemper Center. Everyone in Kenosha and surrounding areas is welcome. We will have a mix of one day "Writers' Breakfasts"; level one writing classes and level two writing classes. We are excited to bring this to the area and meet the needs of hundreds of writers who are either taking their first step into the writing world or are on their way to mastering their craft. Whatever your needs, we feel certain you can find something for yourself in Prose Nest!
Research
- Religion Source - As a journalist you can use this free service of the American Academy of Religion for referrals to scholars with specific expertise in your news topics. Our more than 1,000 expertise categories include religion and politics, social issues, education, popular culture, ethics and more. We include scholars regardless of whether they're AAR members. Most, but not all, live or work in North America. The AAR neither endorses nor rejects any religious belief or practice. The referral service is supported by Lilly Endowment Inc. and The Pew Charitable Trusts. Use is restricted to journalists and other authorized users. Your searches are confidential. Search the database by first signing in below, or contact us instead for personal service.
